    Wedding Cricut 💕

My daughter’s best friend was recently married. She wanted to make something on the Cricut for her friend and husband to be. She found some things online she liked so we did our own version. I love designing! The creative juices get flowing each and every time I start searching for just the right image to personalize a project. Sometimes it’s hard to reign it in and focus on the project at hand. But I am pleased with what we came up for the groom. We made t shirts for the bride and bridesmaids for the bachelorette party- they were super cute! Don’t you think? I love doing custom work!…

    Weekend washcloths

I went yarn shopping the other day and found these cute LIL DOLLOPS from Yarn Bee. Not only am I a yarnaholic but I loooove anything small as well. I had no chance of walking by these. And at $1.99 and 30% off. How could I resist??? I am easily distracted so I have multiple projects going at any given time and thought I needed to add one more to the mix so I got out my favorite “I” hook and started chaining… hmm THAT happens a lot! Lol Well I ended up making two cute little washcloths from just one skein. I have two more skeins to use and…

    American inspirations

Saturday mornings are always lazy, lay in bed Pinteresting for hours, kind of mornings. A few weeks ago I was pinning my heart out and happened upon a gingham crochet blanket. I loved the way it looked so I used the same principle and made this red, white and blue checkered afghan (ya, I still call crocheted blankets afghans. I’m old.. what can I say?) I actually don’t know what type of yarn I used since..well.. I am a self professed yarnaholic. I mean..seriously. There are bins upon bins of scrap yarn with no labels stacked in a spare room in my basement. I pulled out a large white skein…

    The 2 year project

Well! It is finished! I started this mermaid blanket two years ago and finally pulled it out of my bottomless project pile and got to it. It took about 10 hours to actually complete and I just love how it turned out! The pictures I have added don’t do it justice. It looks sooo much prettier in person. I think I may need to take a photo class or two!! After ripping out the tail countless times cuz it just wasn’t coming together this is what I ended up with. I just love the way the colors align and the shape – It’s perfect! I decided to add some crocodile…

    Welcome!

I started Crafty Creates by Cindy because of my lifelong love of crafting! Ever since I can remember there has been some sort of craft going – usually more than one at a given time. My mom and Grandma actually taught me at a young age what crafting was all about. We did all sorts of crafts together – embroidery, cross stitch, macrame, painting, ceramics, floral design, sewing, leather crafting – you name it we probably tried it at least once. And try as mom might – knitting… ah knitting. the rock in my shoe. knitting..sigh.. that just never stuck and I am soooo jealous of those of you who…
